Sally Pressman Interview
Can you tell us about the TV series Army Wives and your role as Roxy LeBlanc?
Army Wives is a TV show base on a real book by Tanya Biank called: Under the Sabers and basically talks about the life on the home front. Army Wives shows the unnatural friendships that accur on the post. Just because everyone is united by the fact that they have family members overseas and they are not sure when they are coming back. Roxy my character is a sassy bartender with two kids with two separate guys. She has kind of a lot of unfortunate circumstances in her life. Roxy meets Trevor, who is her husband at the beginning of the show for seventeen days, so it is a very new romance. Roxy sacrifices everything and picks everything up to where she is. And basically the first series tracks this very new marriage and these two people who are in love in an almost a fairy tale way.
Was it difficult for you to get into the role of Roxy?
She is close to me in a lot of ways. We are both very opinionated but we also have a very good heart, she is a really good person and she really wants to do well for the people she loves.
How do you keep your hair so beautiful?
I have got a lot of very thick curly hair and I really keep it healthy by never blow drying it because the heat does so much damage to your hair. I air-dry my hair. I use great shampoo and leave-in conditioner called: Bed Head Curls Rock, it is for curly hair it is very rich and great moisturizing.
What is your favorite skincare product?
Kate Somerville, which is a skincare line based is LA. I exfoliate twice a week. My mom told me from early on to take care of your skin and keep it clean and moist. As long as you do that doesn’t matter what you put on your skin.
How do you get your eyelashes looking so long full and sexy?
I use a great eyelash curler that I love called Sue Uemura and I also use their mascara too. I also come to love these individual and very thin natural looking eyelash strips. They are really great, on set and now when I go to events. Back in the 80’s they were huge and thick and now they just enhance what you already have.
What is the best lip-gloss you ever owned?
On sets and real life I always use Stila lip glosses. I use all of them: Stila Lip Glaze in Grapefruit, Starfruit, and Strawberry. I also love Stila Plumping Lip Glaze.
What is your signature fragrance?
Chanel Allure. It is pretty much the only perfume that I wear. I love it so much. It is the just so soft.
What one beauty product we will always find in your purse?
I always have my Makeup Forever amazing eye cover-up Lift Concealer, my Stila lip gloss, Blistx Lip Shine, and I always carry Kiehls hand cream. I love Kiehls.
What is your number one beauty secret?
Sleep. Eight hours of sleep every night no doubt and my second one is water.
Which celebrities do you find most beautiful?
Reese Witherspoon, Catherine Zeta Jones, and Jennifer Connelly.
What is your favorite way to relax?
My favorite way to relax is a massage or a facial, that’s the way to go.
Who is your favorite fashion designer?
I have a lot of them. I love Stella McCartney, Carolina Herrera, Marc Jacobs, and Vera Wang is my ultimate favorite. When I lived in New York City, she has a store there, I used to gawk at the store front. There is no question that when I’m getting married I’m going to wear a Vera Wang dress.
Which latest fashion trends do you like or dislike?
One that I dislike is skinny jeans. They are just not for my body type, I am just not into them. The one that I do love is a vest. It can be casual and fun but also really sexy. It is a great outfit maker, or a great accessory to have.
What is your favorite city?
New York City is my favorite city in the world.
Who inspires you the most?
My parents.
What do you care most about life?
The most important thing to me besides family is to really enjoying life. We are in a society that continues to thrive and get everything we can to a point that we loose sight and forget to smell the roses. We forget to appreciate what we have. That’s what I have to tell myself everyday: appreciate, appreciate!
What new and upcoming projects are you working on?
I did a movie for Lifetime which should be airing in March called: Love Sick. The film is directed by Grant Harvey. I play Sue Silverman opposite David James Elliot. I also play a part in Bachelor No. 2 with Dane Cook, Jason Biggs, and Kate Hudson
